More About Lindsey:

Experience: My Social work experience began in 2019 when I began servicing students in middle school and high school in East New York. I then began working with older students pursuing their undergraduate and graduate degrees at Hunter College through the Hunter College Counseling Center. There I provided short term, virtual therapeutic services to students experiencing a broad range of challenges including but not limited to; anxiety, depression, academic pressures, family conflicts, grief, and intimate relationship conflict. My passion for education then led me to return to the middle school setting, this time in Park Slope, where I have continued to work with adolescents in both individual and small group capacities.

I am passionate about and deeply committed to exploring the nexus of mental health and education. I believe that while students are often expected to learn about science, social studies, and math, there is often a failure to educate on how to study and understand oneself. I advocate for the transformative power of psychoeducation within therapeutic contexts, facilitating profound introspection that fosters self-understanding and promotes radical self-acceptance.

Studied: University of Michigan & Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College

Fun Fact: I grew up in NYC but never tired of spending hours wandering around and exploring new streets I have never walked down. I love to bake but mostly like to eat baked goods! I am always on the lookout for the best cookies in NYC.
